Building on the Foundation’s support of the first phase of “The Impact Management Project”, this grant supports a second phase. The project aims to create a widely-adopted, common convention for describing impact goals along the investment value chain, with the intent of making it easier to set goals and measure performance in impact investing. Bridges believes that creating a consistent convention for describing impact should help draw many more investors and greater capital into the marketplace, with this award focusing on fostering adoption of the convention and embedding it in the work of industry standards and frameworks.

Bridges believes that creating a consistent convention for describing impact will overcome a critical barrier and should help draw many more investors and greater capital into the marketplace. Grant funds are being used to pay honoraria to participants in meetings that will be held in multiple countries in order to test the new convention with end users, civil society leaders, and others.
