How Housing Matters in Chicago

February 29, 2016 | 1:30 PM - 6 PM

MacArthur, in partnership with Chicago Community Trust, Polk Bros. Foundation, and the Wieboldt Foundation, invites you to join an interactive discussion with experts and practitioners about how having decent, stable, affordable housing affects children's educational outcomes, the health and well-being of children and adults, and the critical role housing can play in criminal justice system reform efforts.

Following welcoming remarks from MacArthur President Julia Stasch, we will hear from Dr. Megan Sandel, pediatrician and principal investigator from Children's Health Watch. Dr. Sandel will then participate in a plenary discussion panel with other leading researchers, moderated by Erika Poethig, Fellow and Director of the Urban Institute's Urban Policy Initiatives. This discussion will be followed by break out sessions that will engage participants in conversations with local leaders working at the intersections of housing and education, housing and health, and housing and criminal justice reform. We will end with next steps and reflections from the breakouts. A reception will immediately follow.

Seating is limited and reservations are required.
