From the Field
NPR Launches New Podcast-Only Content
National Public Radio, a MacArthur grantee, has proven popular in the new medium of podcasts; the iTunes' list of the most popular podcasts regularly includes 2-3 NPR programs in the top 10. Recently, NPR debuted a new series for podcast distribution only called alt.NPR. The new series is designed to encourage innovation and experimentation with wide-ranging content and format. Each week new Alt.NPR feeds are posted for downloading, including YouthCast, which is produced by MacArthur grantee PRX and features stories told by young people.
