More Than $2.2 Million in Research and Writing Grants in 2003

MacArthur has announced support of 29 projects as part of its annual Research and Writing Grants Competition.

This year's Research and Writing Competition focused on two topics, "Migration and Refugees" and "Technological Change and Global Security and Sustainability." The grants are intended to support projects that explore the development of improved understanding of key topics in global security and sustainability, as well as to broaden and strengthen the community of scholars engaged in work on these issues. The competition is open to both single-applicant and two-person proposals. Grants are awarded for up to $75,000 for individual projects and $100,000 for two-person collaborations. The winning proposals were selected from a pool of 379 applications submitted from around the world. Click here to access a list of award recipients.
