Students at YOUmedia, the Foundation-supported teen learning space in Chicago's downtown Harold Washington Library Center, have been working closely with mentors over the past few months to create a teen-friendly magazine. In the process, students have gained in-depth knowledge about magazine layout, graphic design, photography sequencing, and merging photography perspective with literary perspective. The inaugural issue was published this month.
Digital Media & Learning
MacArthur is exploring how digital media are changing the way young people learn, play, socialize, and participate in civic life. The goal is to make education more powerful for all students by creating more opportunities for more youth to engage in learning that is relevant to their lives and prepares them for success in school, the workplace, and their community.
