    CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — The Joan W. and Irving B. Harris Theater for Music and Dance (the Theater), which opened in Millennium Park in 2003, hosts performances by internationally-known and local arts organizations and serves as an incubator, providing technical, financial, and artistic support for more than 30 mid-sized arts organizations who are in residence at the Theater. The Harris is the primary performance venue for many MacArthur grantees. This grant supports the Theater's work to offer high quality arts programming to Chicago audiences and to sustain and expand financial support, in-kind resources, capacity-building workshops, and opportunities for artistic collaboration to its resident companies.
