Grantmakers in the Arts is a national membership association of private, corporate, and public funders that make grants to artists and arts organizations. Through publications, research, webinars, and other educational activities, Grantmakers in the Arts works to inform philanthropic practice and address the needs of artists, arts organizations, and arts educators. Its annual conference provides opportunities for arts grantmakers to develop collective strategies and learn about the latest initiatives in grantmaking. This award will renew general operating support for Grantmakers in the Arts as it plans to hold national conferences in Chicago and Puerto Rico.

The organization is leading national efforts to increase racial equity in the arts and supports increasing funding for African, Latino, Asian, Arab, and Native American artists, arts organizations, children, and adults. This award recommends renewed general operating support to Grantmakers in the Arts.

GIA is the only national membership association of public and private philanthropies that make grants to artists and arts organization across America. This grant is intended to help GIA strengthen its membership base and raise awareness about cultural assets in Miami as part of a larger strategy to improve the discourse about arts in America.
