Girls' Secondary Education in Developing Countries

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Schools and Teachers Innovating for Results (STIR) will implement a project to identify, test, and scale promising 'micro-innovations' that improve teaching and learning outcomes. STIR will adapt the model that it has previously piloted in primary schools at the secondary level with a particular focus on micro-innovations that benefit girls. The project will be implemented in partnership with other NGOs and the government in Delhi and four states. Successful innovations will be scaled within groups of schools through networks of teachers who are supported by STIR. The project will be evaluated for its impact on the quality of teaching and on students' learning outcomes.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded Schools & Teachers Innovating for Results $500,000 between 2003 and 2014.
