Jail Education Solutions

Jail Education Solutions is a new social enterprise company that intends to develop interventions in the criminal justice system to help reduce mass incarceration and its impacts on communities. Jail Education Solutions’ first project, developed in cooperation with Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, is the production of original video content that specifically addresses the information needs of the jailed population, and the curation of already-produced, public interest media pieces, into a daytime television channel for jails. This project would turn television viewing into a vehicle for learning. A MacArthur grant would support content production, website development and an independent evaluation.
