International Center for Appropriate & Sustainable Technology

The International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technology provides energy efficiency services to low-income communities and the non-profit agencies that serve them across rural Colorado. Rural communities lack many financing options, technical expertise and public support to undertake more environmentally-sustainable business practices, including offering energy efficiency services to the affordable rental housing market. To address these challenges, the Center adopted the energy services company model used in urban areas serving large property owners for use in rural communities. It will use this grant to expand its operations to serve rural communities across Colorado and at least five additional Great Plains states.
