TAPACHULA, MEXICO — Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Matías de Córdova (Fray Matías Human Rights Center) will improve access to justice and services for the migrant population in the southern border region of Chiapas through case documentation, legal assistance, strategic litigation, and advocacy efforts with local authorities. Through case follow-up, this project will also advance implementation of Mexico's new Migration Law. The grant fits with the Foundation's Regional Migration Corridor Initiative's strategic focus on improving access to justice and services for migrants and their families.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Matias de Cordova $75,000 between 2003 and 2014.
