EVANSTON, ILLINOIS — Northwestern University's Professor Benjamin Page will work with NORC at the University of Chicago to design a survey questionnaire, identify a representative national survey, and prepare for a full study of the political and social attitudes and the behaviors of the top one percent of U.S. wealth holders. This grant is part of the Foundation's exploration of the potential effects of the extreme concentration of wealth and income on the functioning of American democracy, and the role wealthy Americans play in democratic policymaking.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded Northwestern University $270,000 between 2010 and 2013.
