WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) is an international, industry-led, non-profit organization that works to make the online world safer for children, youth and their families, using research, resources, events, and special projects to promote a culture of responsibility online and a sense of digital citizenship among parents and their children. It will use this grant to develop a new website designed to foster communication between parents and young people about good digital citizenship, allowing parents and young people to connect and share information about how to use the web safely, and to engage in civic activities.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded Family Online Safety Institute $225,000 between 2010 and 2013.
