    KAMPALA, UGANDA — The aim of this grant is to strengthen the capacity of communities resident in the Albertine rift region to monitor impacts of oil production. Project staff will educate community members on the rights, roles and responsibilities of stakeholders involved in oil production; train community members to monitor and respond to impacts of oil production on the environment and human-well being; and provide legal services to vulnerable community members who reside in the oil region.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded Greenwatch $200,000 between 2009 and 2012.
