ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA — The National Mentoring Partnership is the nation's leading supporter of high-quality mentoring. It will use this grant to establish a Chicago-based Illinois Mentoring Partnership, to expand youth mentoring in Illinois and pilot test a mentoring program that will create mentoring opportunities for young people to interview and digitally document lives of veterans as part of the Veterans History Project, a national effort created by Congress. The project will help ensure a "pipeline" of mentors trained in the use of digital media for learning at the institutions that comprise the Chicago Hive learning network and the YOUmedia library teen space.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded National Mentoring Partnership $400,000 between 2009 and 2012.
