WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Association of State Budget Officers (NASBO) is the professional membership organization for state finance officers - the chief financial advisors to the nation's governors. Through research, policy development, training, and technical assistance, NASBO works to make high-quality information available to state budget offices, provides opportunities to shape practices across states, and assists the National Governors Association (of which NASBO is an affiliate) develop and implement policy positions. It will use this grant to examine how states are addressing three critical budget issues: managing changes in health care, budgeting and financing public infrastructure, and learning from the recent economic downturn.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded National Association of State Budget Officers $275,000 between 2009 and 2012.
