    CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA — The mission of the Born This Way Foundation, a new foundation created by Grammy award-winning performer, Lady Gaga, is to empower young people to make positive change in the world, with a specific focus on stopping meanness and cruelty, especially online. The foundation will use this grant to help establish online outreach to youth and adults through social media; implement a digital citizenship curriculum campaign; develop and disseminate Lady Gaga badges to inspire civic engagement; and design and develop a concert tour bus based on the YOUmedia teen space to extend programs to youth across the country.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded Born This Way Foundation $500,000 between 2010 and 2013.
