This three-year grant of $300,000 to Perm Regional Human Rights Center, one of the leading regional human rights organizations in Russia, is in support of a project to advance access to justice in Perm region by improving the workings of the criminal justice system. The project activities would include strategic public interest litigation; the development of long-term collaboration between non-profit organizations and the judicial community; identifying, publicizing, and conducting advocacy on key issues related to the justice system; and improving the transparency of the courts. Foundation dollars would pay for salaries, fees for outside experts, communications costs, rent, and publications.
